Originally a Mexican land grant, Rancho del Paso, this area passed through series of owners beginning in 1844. Was sold in 1910 to Sacramento Valley Colonization Company for subdivision. Subdivided and offered for sale by Sacramento Suburban Fruit Lands Co. under the name, Rio Linda Poultry and Orchard District.
