Description
Photograph of Seventh Street looking west from Flower Street, Los Angeles, ca.1900. Two two-story Victorian houses are spaced about forty yards apart alongside an unpaved road in which streetcar rails can be seen. A sign on the frontmost house reads "The Burton Rooms". The second house has a number of signs along its bottom wall, reading "Rivers Ever[...]", "Ida Bar" and "Patty [...]" among other, more illegible signs. At right, on the far side of the road a canopy extending from a shop reads "Bakery". Telephone poles can be seen spaced evenly along the sidewalk. Compare: CHS-6772. Photograph shows the same area ca.1928.
