First photograph caption dated September 10, 1929 reads, "Photo shows Dorothy S. Clarke, who today entered the case of Mrs. Lois Pantages as a surprise witness for the prosecution, which charges Mrs. Pantages with murder in connection with Joe Rokumoto's auto crash death."; Second photograph caption dated September 14, 1929 reads, "Another prosecution witness, Mrs. Dorothy Clarke, declared Mrs. Pantages was 'droopy-eyed.' 'In my opinion she was intoxicated,' Mrs. Clarke declared."
