View of the Rainbow Dam in Glenn County circa 1915 Rainbow Diversion Dam had to be built only a few years after the Orland Project opened. It had been demonstrated that the Bureau of Reclamation's East Park Dam impounded a day creek, known as "little stony". Rainbow Dam diverted Big Stony Water into the reservoir.
