Description
Photograph of a chair at the Mission Santa Clara, ca.1898. The chair sits in three-quarters profile, facing right, nicked and marred by use. The frame appears to be wood. Thin upholstry can be seen on the arms and back of the chair, although the seat appears to be furnished with a cushion covered by an ornamental cloth. Much of the plush veneer of the upholstry has been worn away, and the arms are showing signs of extreme wear, the left arm worn so thin that it appears less than an inch thick.
