Photograph of an exterior view of the Carnegie Library in Whittier, ca.1910. The Romanesque building is at center. It is two stories his and has a row of cylindrical columns supporting an overhang over the front porch. The eaves are decorated with scrolling. A wide set of stairs leads to the entrance at left, while a smaller side entrance can be seen at right. A stone retaining wall borders the lawn in front of the library in the foreground. In front of the wall, a cement sidewalk, a line of trees, and a dirt road are visible. A small clapboard house can be seen in the background at left.
