Description
Photograph of a view of Weber Avenue looking east from Hunter Street in Stockton, ca.1900. Weber Avenue is in the foreground and is a wide, smooth dirt road with two sets of streetcar tracks running down the middle and concrete sidewalks on both sides. There is a street car at center, two horse-drawn carts at left, and an early model automobile parked on the edge of the road at right. The left side of the street is solidly lined with tall buildings, while the right side has one tall building and an open lot. Several pedestrians are visible on the sidewalks. Legible signs include, from left to right, "Tailor", "Wholesale Fruit & Produce", "Hammond & Yardley Grocers", and "Peters and Tailor".
