Description
Photograph of Pine Avenue from First Street in Long Beach, Los Angeles, ca.1910. Horse-drawn carriages ride down and are parked along either side of the street, in which the rails for streetcars can be seen. Commercial and tenement buildings line both sides of the street as well, the building in the left foreground boasting both picture windows with molded decoration and a gothic clock tower just visible behind its main structure. To the right, a bicycle leans unattended on the sidewalk behind a carriage which reads "[...] Real Estate". Other legible signs include: "Restaurant [...]", "[...] Supply [...]", and "Meals 75 Orders Day". The relief carving around the face of the clock tower reads "First National Bank". Utility poles line the street to the right.
