Carol Giebel, 17, left, is second place winner, and Barbara Scherer, 18, right, won third place. Standing are Hal Fisher, left, chairman of Valley Committee for Employment of Physically Handicapped and Joe Clerc, veterans' chairman. Greene's essay also won state championship."
