Description
Battleship U.S.S. Ohio, built by the Union Iron Works of San Francisco for the U.S. Navy's Asiatic Fleet, was laid down 22 April 1899, and commissioned 4 October 1904. Designated flagship of the fleet, Ohio sailed as part of the "Great White Fleet" cruise around the world in 1907. She was transferred to the Atlantic fleet in 1909, and served as a training ship for the U.S. Naval Academy. Placed on reserve in 1919, she was scapped in 1923.
