Description
Shown is a postcard from 1911, highlighting key points of interest in Folsom, California, in a collage. These points of interest include The American River Truss Bridge, Sutter Street (now the site of Folsom's Historic District), and the Folsom Grammar School (also known as Granite Grammar School). The bridge was first opened in 1893 but was replaced by the Rainbow Bridge in 1917. The bridge was relocated, in 1930, to Siskiyou County over the Klamath River by the state of California. It remained there until 2000, when it was returned to Folsom alongside the Rainbow Bridge as a pedestrian crossing on the original granite block footings it had previously used before 1917.
