Description
Note on back of photograph: Ameila Earhart helped pioneer a new concept in air transportation by learning to fly a Pitcairn autogiro. Soon afterward, in April 1931, she coaxed one to a record altitude of 18,415 ft. Beech-Nut sent her on a nationwide tour which, unfortunately, terminated in a crash at Abilene, TX. She is shown here on her arrival at Glendale in May 1931.
