Description
Shasta Alpine Lodge. Built by the Sierra Club un 1921 at the Horse Camp on the west slope of the mountain situated at the timber line 8,000 feet elevation. The lodge is open all the year and free to all. The photographer (of album) and party made this their base camp. At this elevation in ordinary winters the lodge is buried out of sight under 15 to 20 feet of snow.
