Description
Photograph caption reads: "Two North Hollywood youngsters stop at Lankershim Boulevard and Oxnard Street to look at a "snow man" that bore this sign: "To our foe Castro. We wish you could melt away like the snow." No one admitted constructing the crushed ice Castro, but a passerby did notice an ice house at nearby Lankershim Boulevard and Tiara Street and wondered aloud "If the ice man at the ice house built the snow man." Looking here are Laurence Kolb, 10, 5705 Camelia Ave., left, and Billy Adams, 12, 11447 Tiara St.". Photograph dated: May 2, 1961.
