Description
Contains orders for removal of family groups and individuals per Exclusion Order No. 3, March 30, 1942 to the Manzanar Reception Center during the period of March 30, 1942-April 2, 1942, and assigns responsibility to the Federal Security Agency for administering a Civil Control Station in Los Angeles for "processing" the people forcibly removed. Also provided are details for how proceed with the removal and a distribution list of agencies and people who are to receive the memo.
The War Relocation Authority (WRA), together with the Wartime Civil Control Administration (WCCA), the Civil Affairs Division (CAD) and the Office of the Commanding General (OFG) of the Western Defense Command (WDC) operated together to segregate and house some 110,000 men women and children from 1942 to 1945. The collection contains documents and photographs relating to the establishment and administrative workings of the (WDC), the (WRA) and the (WCCA) for the year 1942.
