Sårene kan blive voldsomme, før en patient kommer til behandling, for det gør jo ikke ondt Slide Series, Bangladesh 1990: "Leprosy - the old scourge" - No. 08: Leper woman with an ulcer

Description
Slide Series, Bangladesh 1990: "Leprosy - the old scourge" - No. 08: Leper woman with an ulcer on the hand. Nerves attacked by bacilli will be damaged. The first thing being destroyed is the ability to feel. Nervous attacks usually start on the arms and legs, hands and feet. Numbness of hands and feet may result in damage, as the patients are not aware of incipient ulcers in time. Consequently, due to lack of pain, they only arrive for treatment, when the ulcers become severe and difficult to treat.
