Description
Photograph shows Vista House overlook Shasta Dam--Visitors flocking to the Shasta Dam site in increasing numbers to see the large-scale construction are afforded a spectacular view of the work from a Vista House provided by the United States Bureau of Reclamation. The observation point is located on the est. side of the Sacramento River Canyon overlooking the great structure. Concrete is now being poured in blocks on both sides of the river. The huge cableway system stretches imposingly, almost overhead, caring buckets of concrete out from the mixing plant located alongside the 460 foot high tower on the west side of the canyon. The Vista House is open every day of the year. ght
