Photograph caption date stamped August 31, 1956 reads, "Huge graders and other heavy equipment are busy in Burbank's Stough Park flattening hilltops and filling valleys as construction of the city's new 18-hole golf course continues at fast pace. City officials expect the course to be ready for play in one year. This view illustrates how course will be nestled amid towering peaks of Verdugo Mountains."
