Bishop of the North Western Diocese and President of ELCT, Dr Samson Mushemba, conducted the Consecration. Thousands were invited for the celebration. (Bishop Nelson Kazoba succeded the first Bishop of Karagwe Diocese, Paulo R. Mukuta - and served as bishop until 2003).
