In this document, Frank Cowan, Secretary of the General Land Office of the United States for President Andrew Johnson, grants a title to a plot of California land called San Francisquito to Henry Dalton. The name "Henry Dalton" stands in larger print at center, surrounded by lines of smaller script. A seal bearing an eagle and the words "United States General Land Office" sits at the bottom left.
