Photograph of aviators Philip Parmelee and J. Clifford Turpin flying Wright biplanes at the Dominguez Hills Air Meet, 1912. The two identical planes are both airborne and are flying at approximately the same altitude. Both planes have two sets of long, broad wings, two propellers, and a combination of skis and wheels for landing gear. A large crowd is gathered around early automobiles and biplanes on the ground at left, and a grandstand is full of people on the right.
