Photograph of ruins of a borate mill at Calico and Yermo, erected 1880, [s.d.]. To the right of center stands a tall pillar made of various-shaped stones. A hole is visible at the top of the pillar where some of the stones appear to have fallen off. To the right of the pillar a man is visible standing with his right hand on it. He is visible wearing slacks and a sweater over a shirt and tie. The pillar stands on a pile of rock shards while broken wooden planks are visible jutting out of the ground. The ground is composed of dirt, and a valley is visible in the background to the left. Photoprint reads: "Coleman and Garth".
