Description
Betsy Kagan was a choreographer, dancer and teacher, and a leader in the field of movement analysis. She trained with movement innovator Irmgard Bartenieff and studied with modern dance pioneers such as Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham and Paul Taylor. She performed with various groups and choreographed and directed her own dance works over a 25-year span. Her choreography on the East Coast and in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was based until her death in 2017 in Oakland, California. Arturo Fernandez is a dancer/choreographer who worked with Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, served as co-Artistic Director with Juntos Dance Theater, and co-founded Left Coast Dance. Living openly with HIV, his works deal directly with homosexuality and living with HIV/AIDS. Video by Demystavision.
