Photograph of a Signal Hill oil well view, ca. 1929. Part of an oil derrick can be seen in the right foreground, as well as a cement block. A small building can be seen, built on the edge of the wooden deck which extends from underneath the derrick in the foreground. A road can be seen in the left foreground cutting through an oil field which is covered with a large number of oil derricks that extends far into the distance. Two more small buildings can be seen built around the oil derrick in the center of the photograph. Two cylindrical storage containers can be seen on the left side of the road, near more oil derricks.
