Photograph caption dated September 22, 1947 reads, "Valley landmark - Mrs. Buck Jones, widow of famous Western star, left, and Mrs. Noah Beery Jr. study replica of Newhall's Placerita ranch. Their husbands were often at site while on location. Gold was discovered near the ranch."
