Ms. Nude California Pageant 1981 program: "Pageant policy is simply to stage an event stressing the basic wholesomeness of the human body, with good taste, dignity and propriety in such a manner as to please the most critical audience. Ms Nude California Contestants are judges on personality, appearance, poise, knowledge of nudism, ability to speak and mannerisms. There is no photography during the pageant other than camp photographers and accredited news media. The winner is chosen to represent “SOCIAL NUDISM” for the year, not to convert to our way of life, but to educate people to a better understanding of the “Nudist Philosophy.” As a result, the contestant MUST BE A NUDIST and have some knowledge of the nudist movement and lifestyle."
