Original photograph has several stains on the bottom half of the picture. Photograph caption dated April 4, 1950 reads "Miss Helen Jenks, readies 'Pegasus,' traveling library for start of new schedule in tour of Valley communities." The bookmobile service, with headquarters in North Hollywood, is set up as a community service by the Los Angeles Public Library. It makes 17 weekly stops in the Valley, which vary in length from 45 minutes to two hours.
