Text written under photo: "Burning of the Palace & Grand Hotels April 18, 1906. Union Trust building, left. Crocker Building Right." View looks south from northwest corner of Sutter and Montgomery. A cloud of smoke is billowing out of the Palace. A flag is flying from the Masonic Temple's tower.
