Description
Tidying up her temporary home, a Sylmar child zips up the tent in front of her Knox Avenue home on February 16, 1971. The force of the previous week's earthquake ripped up the block wall in the foreground. In the background, a neighbor's tent can be seen just beyond the chemical toilet used by victims. A number of families are similarly hampered, their homes unsafe for occupancy.
