Photograph article dated March 10, 1961 partially reads, "Two of the top prep sprinters in the state tangled yesterday as Glendale Hoover cruised by John Burroughs 61 2-5 - 42 3-5. This victory virtually clinches the Foothill League title for the Tornados. A personal duel took place in the sprints between Hoover's Forrest Beaty and Burrough's Ralph Turner, with Turner coming out on the short end of both races. In a close 100-yard dash, Beaty nipped Turner in a speedy 9.8, but the 220 may have ended differently if Turner hadn't 'quit'". John Burroughs High School is in Burbank, California.
