The headquarters for the Pacific Federal Savings and Loan Association, originally known as the First Federal Savings & Loan Building, was built in 1959 and demolished in 1998. The site became the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex in 2001.
Looking west from the intersection of Cherokee Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, December 1980. Visible businesses include, from left to right, the Hollywood Theater, A Bank of America branch, The Max Factor Building, the Paramount Theatre, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the 12-story office building serving as the headquarters of Pacific Federal Savings and Loan Association, the historic Hollywood First National Bank Building, the Vogue Theater, Musso & Frank Grill, and a gift shop. The trees have both yellow ribbons in honor of the Iran Hostage Crisis and red ones for Christmas.
