Description
Just beyond the eastern banks of the Sacramento River, a happy group gathers at the opening of Golden West Motors Company on July 1, 1914. Located at Seventh Avenue and Riverside Boulevard, the business officially opened when Phenette Miller christened Golden West's first truck. She was chosen participate after winning a contest that garnered more than 500,000 votes. A notable speaker at the event was Sacramento Superior Court Judge Peter J. Shields.
