Description
Eight black and white printed portraits, one frontispiece of Harriet Beecher Stowe, and one portrait of Henry Ward Beecher.
Originally bound in a blue morocco volume which was disbound by Huntington conservators in June 1992. It was subsequently placed in individual folders and housed together in a rope case.
Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811-1896) was an American abolitionist and author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin," as well as additional novels, travel memoirs, and collections of articles and letters. Stowe was a member of an influential clergy and literary family that included her father Lyman Beecher, her brother Henry Ward Beecher, and her sister Catharine Beecher.
