Photograph of a view of Old Town San Diego Second Street looking south, ca.1873. The area is made up of a wide assortment of buildings on dirt roads in front of San Diego Bay. The Union Building is seen under construction on D Street (later Broadway) on the left and the Pacific Coast S. S. Co. Wharf is visible at the end of Fifth Street in the distance at center. There is a windmill behind a large rectangular building on the right side. There is a three-mast ship in the bay on the right. Legible signs include, from left, "Stockton House" and "Market".
