Description
A woman poses in a walking dress for 1829. She wears a wide brimmed, blue bonnet with large, pink bows adorning the crown and the underside of the brim. A pink ribbon secures the hat under her chin. The collar of her dress consists of two tiers of white, eyelet lace. It lies flat against her shoulders and chest. There is a gold brooch at the center of the collar. Her dress is deep teal blue with long, puffed gigot sleeves. The cuffs are edged with white ruffles. She wears pale yellow gloves and holds a white parasol in one hand and a blue handbag with lace trim in the other. The bodice is very plain with a single seam down the center. The skirt has a zigzag pattern about midway down. The hem is trimmed with white, eyelet lace. She wears a pair of black flats over white stockings.
