Description
Annotation translation: "Printed in HB [Heidenbote] 1940/1. The Mbembe country is the land of the oil-palm tree. The kernals are boiled and crushed in the compounds to obtain the oil. This Mbembe man carries two spears for hunting. He hunts only with spears. In addition he carries a belt for climbing made from palm-ribs, and a calabash for the palm-wine he collects. (For climbing the palm-tree see image no. 44)." Annotation: "Cl. HB [Heidenbote] 1940(1). Das Mbembe-Land ist das Land der Ölpalme. Die Palmkerne werden zu Hause gekocht und gestampft zur Gewinnung des Öls. Zwei Wurfspeere trägt der Mbembe-Mann zur Jagd auf das Wild, das er nur mit dem Speere jagt. Ausserdem trägt er den Steigriemen aus einer Palmrippe verfertigt, so wie eine Kalebasse für Palmwein. (Besteigen der Ölpalme siehe Bild 44)."
