Description
The Intersection for the Arts, established in 1965, is the oldest nonprofit arts space in San Francisco, producing and presenting new and experimental work in the fields of literature, theater, music, and the visual arts and offering community classes and workshops. Video by Demystavision. Videographers Bill Bathurst, Ron Blanchette, Jed Handler. Features participants and performances from the 1984 benefit for Intersection. The benefit featured playwright and performer Priscilla Cohen as emcee. Features performances from A Traveling Jewish Theatre (selections of works performed by Corey Fischer, Albert Greenberg, and Naomi Newman); "The Sunshine's Glorious Bird", written and performed by John O'Keefe; "Untitled", written and performed by Harriet Schiffer; excerpt from "Stuff as Dreams Are Made on", written and performed by Fred Curchack; "Party Science" written and performed by Overtone Theatre (with Mark Petrakis, O-Lan Shepard, Catherine Stone, and Kenny Nansen. Directed by Julie Hebert); "Just Another Day/ Municipal Riot" written and performed by Roger Nieboer and Amy Broshanan. [possibly "Ask Mr. Science" written and performed by Duck's Breath Mystery Theatre (with Dan Coffee as Mr. Science and Merle Kessler as Mr. Science's assistant, directed by Bill Allard). There is a handwritten note about the battery dying before this so this may not be included]
