Description
Shown in circa 1915 is Sutter's Fort, located at Twenty-Seventh and L streets. Several people stand along the north wall of the fort and a pond accented by a fountain. The water feature was part of what remained of Burns Slough, also known as Burns Creek. The slough stood as a natural relief point for a flooded American River.
