Description
Del Monte Corporation required its employees to wear hard hats beginning in the 1950's, after a worker was seriously injured by a falling can. Line workers wore blue hats; supervisors wore white hats and white shirts. Workers also wore plastic caps to keep hair out of the products. Del Monte Plant #3 closed in 1999.
