First photograph caption dated December 18, 1963 reads "A party for Valley area patients of muscular dystrophy will be given by the Elks Club of Van Nuys at 2 p.m. Sunday at 14440 Friar St., Van Nuys. Dinner will be served at 3 p.m. followed by entertainment by Kay Starr, Alyce King, Alladin and Herm Saunders. Decorating for the party are, from left, Bill Edmundson, patient and chairman for the Muscular Dystrophy Association; George Kovace, Elks exalted ruler; Ted Dodson, leading knight, and Irede Valmassy, a patient. Patients attending will be from the San Fernando and Antelope valleys."
