Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated August 17, 1954 reads, "Marine Pvt. Joseph E. Davis, 20, of Wichita Falls, Texas, accused of the fatal stabbing of Robert C. Whitacre, 37, of 7613 Machrea Ave., Tujunga, faces preliminary hearing tomorrow, 1:30 p.m. in Van Nuys Municipal Court. Davis was brought to Van Nuys yesterday, following his extradition from Texas. He was on leave home, when he was implicated by another Marine. The stabbing occurred last month following a traffic accident and altercation at Sepulveda boulevard and Raymer street in Sepulveda."
