Description
Two women and a group of girls stand in front of a shrine on the grounds of the College of Notre Dame. The path leading to the shrine is flanked by rose bushes and palms. The shrine contains a statue depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The statue was erected to commemorate the college's Golden Jubilee. The College of Notre Dame was founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The college, convent, and gardens occupied 10 acres of land along West Santa Clara Street.
