Hotel Brewster, corner 4th and C Streets; interior view shows office lobby, three men sitting, five men standing, one man behind carved wood office section, one man standing adjacent to luggage and stairs at right; Victorian wallpaper frieze, carved wood reception booth, door frames, windows and fireplace mantle, marble pillar at center, ornate recessed ceiling. San Diego; ca. 1890.
Typewritten text on verso: Hotel Brewster, corner 4th and C Streets, opened in December, 1888. It was the first building in San Diego to have a passenger elevator. In 1934 the structure was razed. "Land Boom Palace" by Dan Driese. San Diego Historical Society Quarterly, April, 1956.
