Photograph caption dated February 5, 1960 reads "Leo Hirsh, donor of electronic computer to institute in Israel, left, talks over old times with his former teacher, Dr. Joseph Kaplan, professor of physics at UCLA, right, as Mrs. Hirsh and Meyer W. Weisgal, listen in on conversation. Weisgal, chairman of Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovath, Israel, came to Los Angeles especially to thank Hirsh for his gift." The gift was valued at $400,000.
