Audio Correspondence to Sam Farr from his father, Fred Farr, at the 1964 Democratic National Convention, Atlantic City, NJ. At the time of correspondence, Sam Farr was serving in the Peace Corps in Medellin, Columbia and his father, Fred Farr, was serving as a California State Senator. Part 1 - Fred Farr and woman speaking from the convention floor (bad audio) - 0:52 switched to live recording of woman singing “House of the Rising Sun” - 3:30 Nancy Farr talks about being at the convention for Youth for Johnson. Part 2 - Fred interviewing US Congressman Ed Roybal - 3:21 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr speech. This tape is part of Sam Farr's papers. It is labeled "Dem Convention Aug 99?, Ed Roybol, Nancy; #3 USA".
