Photograph of a desert miner standing in front of his stone cabin, near Randsburg, Kern County, California, ca.1900-1920. The miner holds a shovel over his shoulders with his right hand and rests his left hand on the rock wall of his cabin. In front of him is a pot (or can?) with a lid over it. Debris is scatter across the ground (at right). A chimney juts above the roof of the cabin (in the rear).
