Patrick Burns, 7, was killed when struck by an automobile driven by Jack A. Risley, 26, in a crosswalk at Ninth and Valencia streets. Witnesses said the car threw the boy 159 feet. Risley was booked on suspicion of manslaughter. This picture shows the young boy celebrating his 5th birthday. Photograph dated November 14, 1947.
