Description
The York Pacific Company is pictured here on August 30, 1946, at 1229 I Street. The company was established in Santa Rosa, California, in 1935, by Mechanical Engineer Richard M. Oeberst. A native of Hamburg, Germany, Oeberst immigrated to the United States in the 1920s. In 1937, he moved the company to Sacramento. It specialized in the sale and service of refrigeration equipment. In the spring of 1960, Oeberst sold off his share of the company, effectively ending the run of the company as York Pacific.
