Originally named Boulder Dam, it was renamed Hoover Dam in 1946. The Colorado River flowed past Fortification Mountain, elevation 3500 feet, overlooking the Hoover Dam sit. A building sets along the right hand shore of the river. Photo taken in the 1920's or 30's.
