Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article possibly dated 1951 partially reads, "As a chemist, Burbank's Nancy Rutledge is a darned good mystery writer. If that sounds confusing it's only because it's the truth. Nancy earned a chemistry degree (she won't say how long ago) in a Midwestern college. Later on she also earned a masters degree in English. This left two fields of endeavor open to the ambitious Nancy and she chose writing. Since then she has come to be recognized as one of the top mystery writers in the U. S. Proof of this is offered by just picking up this week's edition of the Saturday Evening Post in which her latest mystery novel, 'Easy to Murder,' is being serialized. Since 1944 when she published her first novel Nancy has turned out a total of six. She also has more than a score of short stories on the market."
